Ranjitha appeared at the Egmore Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court for the first hearing for the defamation case that she has filed against Kanchi Jayendra Sarasawathi. The Kanchi Jayendra Sarasawathi had said that Ranjitha is accompanying Nithyananda wherever he goes and the actress has filed a defamation case against him for making derogatory remarks about her.
The Magistrate took up the case for hearing and adjourned it to May 16th with the instructions that Kanchi Jayendra Sarasawathi be issued summons to appear before the court on the above-mentioned date.
Speaking to the media later, Ranjitha to a question if there would be reconciliation should Kanchi Jayendra Sarasawathi express regret for his statement, said that she would consider if such an issue crops up but so far she hasn’t heard of it.
