Endemol India Private Limted, the pioneers in Hindi serial production is a name to reckon with in entertainment industry of the country. They now join hands with the famed Tamil production house Nemichand Jhabhak Productions for their maiden venture in Tamil.
Endemol India Private Limited, keen to provide quality entertainment, comes to film production for the first time and have appropriately chosen to do the remake of much acclaimed Hindi blockbuster Kahaani. They have obtained the remake rights of the movies amidst stiff competition.
Kahaani starring Vidtya Balan, is a thriller directed and co-written by Sujoy Ghosh. Besides Vidya Balan, the film features Parambrata Chatterjee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles.
Vidtya Balan portrayed the role of Vidya Bagchi, a pregnant woman in search of her missing husband in the city of Kolkata during the Durga Puja festivities, who is helped in her quest by Satyaki Rana Sinha (Chatterjee) and Khan (Siddiqui).The movie won rave reviews and collected huge revenue at the box office crossing over Rs 100 crore.
Remake rights is owned by Endemol while investment partner of the movie in Tamil would be V Hitesh Jhabak of Nemichand Jhabak Productions.
Talks are on with top three directors of Tamil cinema to do the film and top two heroines have been approached by the production house. Formal announcement is expected soon.
It may be that Nemichand Jhabak had produced films like Nan Avan Illai, Mysskin’s Anjathae, Pandi and Dhanush’s Mappillai before.
