Jyothika to act in movies again?

It looks that Jyothika, the yesteryear heroine and the wife of actor Surya, is all set to get herself launched for a second innings in films.

In a recent interview to a Tamil magazine Surya has spilled the beans that Jyothika had decided to do a comeback and she would soon be signing a movie soon. However, the actor did not disclose anything about Jyothika‘s new project.

When quizzed whether he had restrained her from acting in films after marriage, the actor said, “It was purely her decision not to act in films as she wanted to spend time at home and enjoy the marriage life.” And, when asked how she could act in commercials then, Surya added, “Films require long time but commercial shoots wind up in a day or two. As our children are bit grown up now Jyothika can dedicate her time for long hours, and doing films is possible now!”

Surya is currently doing ‘Maatraan‘ with his favourite director KV Anand, who directed Suriya in the blockbuster ‘Ayan‘! Kajal Agarwal plays the female lead and Harris Jayaraj scores the music. The film is on the verge of completion and will be released in August this year!

Jyothika wants to act – says Surya

In a recent interview actor Surya has revealed that his wife and former actress Jyothika still has the desire to get back to acting.

He made it a point to clarify that it wasn’t his decision to keep her away from acting. But when quizzed him as to why she takes up only endorsements but not films, Surya explains that shoot for endorsement lasts only for a couple of days and that she thinks she cannot afford spending long time in shooting spots without being there for her children.

The Maatraan actor also said that his lady will come to act when she thinks that it is the appropriate time. Jyothika‘s last release was Seetha Kalyanam in Malayalam.
