It was exactly a decade ago, on May 11th 2002 when INOX LEISURE LIMITED launched its first state-of-art Multiplex at Bund Garden Road, Pune. Thousands thronged INOX to witness a world-class cinema viewing experience. Today, several hits and blockbusters later, it is a historic moment for everyone here at INOX on the completion of a decade of entertaining its valued guests.
It has been a wonderfully adventurous journey and INOX takes pride in having been part of a lot of historic moments in the history of Indian cinema. Movies screened over the last decade have broken many Box Office records and won many National and International Awards. During this decade, INOX witnessed two acquisitions – In 2006, INOX acquired CCPL, popularly known as 89 Cinemas in West Bengal. Last year in 2011, INOX completed its acquisition of FAME INDIA LIMITED making it a subsidiary. With these two acquisitions, INOX along with FAME today is the largest multiplex chain in India – with 68 multiplexes, 257 screens spread across 34 cities.
