Pooja has refuted media reports, which claimed that she was sacked by National Award winning director Bala from his forthcoming film, tentatively titled Paradesi.
‘Bala auditioned me in February and I had just 20 days of shooting. But not even one day of shoot could be conducted due to the strike in the industry. As per an earlier commitment, I have to go to Australia in June to shoot for another film. So I could not allot fresh dates as requested by Bala. The director understood my situation,’ she said.

Meanwhile, Dhansika, who did a neat job in Vasanthabalan‘s Aravaan, is said to be the one chosen to replace Pooja. Pooja said she could not do the film due to call-sheet problems. The Ullam Ketkume girl said she was on her way to Australia for the shoot of her next film.
