  1. Murugan A says:

    Happy Birthday “Thala” Ajith:

Year and years are following, but our ‘Thala’ remains same rejuvenated forever. From the day, he made his debut with ‘Amaravathi’; there has been no turning back for the ultimate actor. Today, the actor celebrates his 41st birthday and still he looks fresh and cheerful as a teen boy.
Yes, it’s not just his looks that make him respectable amongst the entire world, but his gracious nature of humanity, helping tendency and good thoughts has kept going ahead on places.
May 1 has yet significance and that’s about ‘Workers Day’. An avatar of flying Taurus, this personality has been ardently working harder to achieve perfection in all works he gets on with. Even on this day, he has severely practicing for the next race ready to kick-start within next couple of days.
‘All the so-called secrets won’t work unless you do it’ said Ajith during an interview, when he was questioned to reveal about his secret of success. Just imagine any actor can sustain himself in the showbiz even at times that have been so low.
In the history of Tamil Cinema, none can be like our only ‘Thala’ and we expect a lot and wonderful projects from him.
We express our heartiest and big wishes for our Ajith.
Keep his life as a great moral and get inspired by his values and hard works, so that you can achieve the biggest success in your life.

  2. Arunkumar H says:

Happy Birthday Mr. Ajith. Expecting lot from Billa-2 Prequel. If it is sequel then there is less scope and more sensible creation is required. But for prquel there is lot in front. I don’t know how Chakri Toleti is handled?. How a ordinary man become a “DON” or Billa. Theme/One line plot is very good. Lot and lot of story you can have in this theme. Each and every frame shall be created well in this theme. The director should not forget the ordinary man forced to become don due to social environment. It should start from childhood. Child is totally cornered by the society in all aspects including bad father and mother. Basically all child is good when he birth. But when he growing the child become very bad due to selfish and hopeless social environment. When we come out from the theater we have to say “Don” character is substantiated well. There is no choice for a ordinary man other than become a “Don”. If director had these things in his mind then the film is sure “Blockbuster” even before release.

I heard Billa2 full songs. Below average. Third rated songs from yuvan except idhayam. Disappointed. Yuvan totally failed to give good rythems. Even new comers, debut actors film coming with good songs. For Mass hero like Ajith, songs should be far better. Looking for the movie. Ajith Fans, Pls be true to the faith. Simply dont praise anything. Neutral people say songs are below average. Fans are the problem for Ajith. I expect Billa2 movie not like Alwar, Asal, Aegan, Jana series…………songs are disappointing.

  21. Saravanakumar, Chennai says:

Dropping out of school to become a four-wheeler mechanic and a garment exporter, taking first steps into the modeling world, handling acting schedules and race track timings at the same time, living on the edge- he has lived life as he wanted. For him, destiny was a choice not a chance. Looking back at a film career that started in 1992 with Prema Pustagam (Telugu), he has managed to create a space for himself, a huge fan following and a title that sits gracefully on his radiant persona. That’s why today is worth celebrating for everyone who enjoys watching Tamil cinema. Happy Birthday Ajith Kumar- Tamil cinema’s ‘Ultimate Star’.
Life as Ajith is never easy! For some inexplicable reason, failure and success seem to alternate with regularity for this star, especially in the past few years. And Ajith never wants it easy, after all, at heart he is a racer who is willing to take all the hits in the fast lane. He never has denied failures, nor has he flaunted his success, he has carried them with the same dignity and remained surprisingly low key and media shy for a Kollywood star. At times these might have worked against him but he chose not to change. That is the reason his fans, huge in numbers have also not changed, sticking with him through the good and the bad, the thick and the thin.
As an actor, Ajith has done a spectrum of roles. Right from the college boy, the chocolate lover, angry young man, struggling middle class youngster, family man, psycho, cop, gangster and many more of the limited range of characters that a regular Kollywood hero is offered. To pick a few is difficult but Kadhal Kottai, Vaali and Mugavari are the films that first come to mind when one thinks of the movies that set him on the path to being the Ultimate Star. In spite of having proved himself in roles of varying demands there remain people who doubt whether Ajith really belongs in the big league. Quite a few failures in the past years have contributed to it but criticism directed towards Ajith has always had a dismissive edge to it. It might be out of sheer frustration from the fact of such a talented young actor walking into the wrong script over and over again, but it has often shifted focus away from the real picture of what Ajith can do when armed with the right script. Based on all that he has done in is nearly 20 year long career, Ajith’s acting skills must never be questioned. May be he is not an acting genius in the way critics use the term, but Ajith is indeed a presence on screen and it is time that this be acknowledged instead of looking at him only through his last movie.
May 1 2007 to May 1 2008. The last one year in Ajith’s life has been great. Though it might have started with the lingering taste of Aalwar’s disappointment, all that changed with Kreedom. We all saw it and said together that this was undoubtedly Ajith’s best ever performance on screen. A role immortalized by one of India’s finest actors recreated by one of Tamil cinema’s most vibrant stars. Kreedom was undoubtedly a crowning glory for Ajith. But that was just the beginning. Emulating the Superstar is no mean game and might give jitters to even the best in the business. To be Billa is not everyone’s cup of coffee but Ajith proved that he can hold it. Backed by a solid team, he produced what we think is one of the finest tight rope walks in recent times. Billa broke records and more importantly a few detractors’ predictions. Ajith had arrived! Of course, he had arrived a long time back, in fact many times, but this time we think he has arrived on a different plane. But the best thing in the past year definitely must be fatherhood. Blessed with a daughter, Ajith must have bee the happiest man on the planet. Now he has Aegan and a project with Gautham to follow. Not to mention the MGR award that he received from the state government- life has been good.
The one thing that many people don’t like or want Ajith to change is his choice of scripts and movies. We don’t like to see a star of his stature in the hands of an immature director and then shouldering the blame for something that would have gone wrong anyway. But we must also know that at heart Ajith is still a racer, living life on the edge. There is only one way that a racer knows, take the road, the corners or the choices that appears before you; in the fast lane you don’t pause to think twice. Yes, there have been bad roads and blind turns and they have led to problems. But for every problem there is a pit-stop, a change of tyres, refueling, and the racer always knows where the car has to reach- the chequered flag. No doubt, Ajith the racer and Ajith the Ultimate Star always know the way to the chequered flag and a winning finish. Happy Birthday.

  22. Senthil, Trichy says:

    Happy Birthday Ajith!

They say once you are a Thala fans, you will be a Thala fan always!! True to it, Thala is today one of the hot and happening star in Kollywood. From Amaravathy to Billa 2, Ajith has grown as an actor, as a star and as an icon. With one look from the star, ladies swoon and guys go into raptures! Handsome, charming, smart, professional and level-headed are the adjectives that pop into your mind when you meet him or want to describe him. He may have debuted in Telugu, but once Kollywood sampled his acting prowess, there was no question about letting him go.

Ajith has not had a rosy path in Kollywood, but he is one of those ‘never say die’ kind of people, so his sheer perseverance and hard work have earned him a top spot here. Apart from being a versatile actor, he is an avid racer and has participated in many international racing events. Memorable movies of Ajith include Kadhal Mannan, Amaravathy, Aasai, Vaali, Villain, Attakasam, Ji, Varalarau, Kireedam and Billa, to name but a few. So far he has won three Filmfare awards for the Best Actor. He married actress Shalini in April 2000, and the couple recently celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary. The actor is currently awaiting the release of his much awaited Billa 2 and the songs are already out on market, today.

As Ajith celebrates his birthday today (May 1), we wish him all the happiness in the world and we also wish his family blessed days ahead!

  23. Wishing Ajith a happy birthday!

Ajith is celebrating his 41st birthday today and it can’t get better for his fans as Billa 2’s audio is also hitting the stands today! Ajith, affectionately referred to as Thala, entered the film industry as hero with Amaravathy in 1993 and since then has been building a successful career.

Last birthday, the star disbanded his fans’ associations creating a ruckus among his fans but the star remained firm on his decision. This year, his Billa 2 is keeping his fans elated and euphoric. Though the film’s release has been put-off to June, fans are excited about the audio launch is happening today.

We are happy to wish Ajith a very happy birthday and successful year ahead. May he continue to entertain us with loads of films in future!

  24. Jasasudha says:

Happy birthday King Of Openings, Ajith!

May 1 is Ajith Kumar’s birthday. The star is known as the King Of Openings in Tamil cinema thanks to the massive openings his films see in all centers. And what’s shocking is that the actor strongly believes in his films doing the talking and stays away from promotions.

Ajith is one actor who has only gotten hotter with age! We must say the star wowed audiences this time around last year with his salt and pepper hair do in ‘Mankatha’, something no other Tamil actor would dare to pull off!

Professionally, things are it its best for Ajith for ‘Mankatha’ that released last year is his biggest hit so far. He has ‘Billa 2′ that’s red hot in trade and has been sold for Rs 40 crore, which again is the highest in his career!

Thala who earned respect from the audience through the years for his off screen nature is popular for his frank yet diplomatic statements. Here are some of his quotes… You can share some of his quotes that inspired you as well!

It hurts me to see fans posting very lewd comments about each other. I hope it stops. It’s appalling for a common person to see such comments on social networking sites. Professional competition will always be there between different genres of actors. But to make personal, lewd comments, it doesn’t go down well. That should stop. Whoever does it first, will be looked upon.

I didn’t let the child in me die, it’s still alive!

You can of course review whether a film is good or bad, but few get personal and comment that I’m fat. After 15 operations my metabolism has changed entirely. I consider that me walking with my two legs as a big deal. I’m very, very thankful for it. I may not be a good dancer, but I’m trying. Even after so many operations I’m jumping off a helicopter, I’m fighting… But it’s always that few get personal and comment about my looks which dishearten me…

Never lose your self respect for anyone. Give your 100 per cent towards your work. Please study well. I studied only till 10th standard. I have struggled a lot and that route is really difficult. I needn’t have struggled so much if I studied well. Live and let live.

I understood clearly that an actor’s job is much more than his appearance on screen. Considering the prevalent competition, an actor’s responsibility is manifold.

I take both success and failures alike. They have made me mature and strong as an individual. You only get better and better, wiser by the experience.

I’ve always had a need for speed. Ever since I sat in a car I wanted to be a professional racer. Lots of people have told me how difficult it is. But I’m not going to fail and I’ve never given anything less than my best shot in all my endeavors.

I know! And believe me, remaining unprovoked through all the back-stabbing and canard isn’t easy. But I don’t wish to give importance to people who indulge in it, by reacting to them. None can gain mileage from slinging mud at me. All celebrities go through it. You either stay back or walk away. I opted for the former

The brash young Ajith is gone. Now I’m probably turning philosophical and even spiritual. I read a lot and it has made me realise the transience of fame and fortune. Agreed, it’s a rat race everywhere, but let’s move on… live and let live!

Yes, I have made good decisions, bad decisions; done good films, bad films. I’ve met some wonderful people and been through some very traumatic experiences but I guess that’s what’s made me the person that I am today.

I believe in this saying that ‘in every grain of rice, our name is written’. Que sera, sera. Whatever will be, will be, so why fret? What is now, is what it is.

I am pretty expressive with my emotions. I don’t think something and say something else. I don’t know if it’s something I should be proud of or to watch out for. Maybe I am not politically correct. I don’t know if that’s a crime.

  25. It is a big day for ‘Thala’ fans. Yes, it is Ajith‘s birthday today. The bike racer-turned-model-turned-actor, and now the undisputable hero of big opening in Tamil cinema, is turning 41 today!

Born in Secunderabad to a Palakkad Iyer father and Sindhi mother.

Ajith dropped himself out from School at the later stage of his secondary education and took up a job of a two-wheeler auto mechanic. The young mechanic then ventured into print and video ad modeling for some time.

It was in 1992, the film industry opened its gates to Ajith with his Telugu film ‘Prema Pustagam’! While acting in this film, Tamil director Selva offered Ajith the lead role in his second film ‘Amaravathi’ marking the debut of actor in Tamil films.

Ajith did not speak the language Tamil till he started acting in ‘Amaravathi’, and the voice for him in the film was lent by actor Vikram, another upcoming actor that time. The debut film paved way for a series of romantic films in Tamil and ‘Aasai’, directed by Vasanth and produced by Mani Ratnam, took the actor to stardom!

This followed another set of films that showed Ajith in method acting and director Agathiyan’s ‘Kadhal Kottai’ was a super hit that made Ajith an actor to be reckoned with. Director S J Suryah’s psychological thriller ‘Vaali’ became a blockbuster for Ajith that catapulted him to the league of top young heroes of Tamil cinema. ‘Amarkalam’, ‘Mugavaree’ and ‘Kandukonden Kandukonden’ that followed ‘Vaali’ earned the actor a name as a performing star.

Director A R Murugadoss’ ‘Dhina’, ‘Red’, ‘Villani’ and ‘Varalaru’ showed the action hero in Ajith and this metamorphosis of a young romantic boy to a method actor to an action hero was not a walk on rose petals for this determined, hardworking star. He had to tread the path of harsh thorns to reach this spot.

The 2007 blockbuster movie ‘Billa’ brought a twist in the career of Ajith. The film made the star a ‘big opener’ at the ‘box-office’ cinema! ‘Mankatha’, the 2011 blockbuster, put the actor above all stars, only next to Rajini and Kamal, in terms of fan following and big opening at cinema halls.

And, the star has now reached the top spot in his career with the upcoming film ‘Billa 2′ being the most anticipated movie of the year.

Besides his movie career, Ajith’s first passion, motor racing, occupied his heart and soul in the beginning and the middle of his movie career. The racer in him brought him both accolades and setbacks, in terms of popularity and physical ailments. In 90s Ajith suffered serious injuries in a racing accident and underwent 3 major surgeries and was put to bed rest for more than one and half years.

Ajith had to say good bye to racing, at least temporarily, for the good health of his and the welfare of the family and also to put his down-falling career back on track. This was a good decision that was appreciated by everyone including his family, friends and fans.

At this point of time the star dropped the title ‘Ultimate Star’, that was given him and asked his fans and industry not to use it anymore.

The relationship between Ajith and his fans are one of the widely covered topics in the media. The fans liked him for his honesty, hard work and humbleness and started calling him ‘Thala’!

But, a blow came to ‘Thala’ fans when the actor announced the dissolution of his fan club. However, apprehensions among the fans lived only for a short period as the fans started understanding the real intention of the star and this made the fans loving the star more than ever and for them Ajith became a demi-god, like what Rajinikanth is for his fans!

Apart from this, Ajith career was also marred with other controversies like the brief love relationship with his ‘Kadhal Kottai’ costar Heera, his straight forward interviews and speeches, his honest approach to the hypocritical film industry and his marriage with Shalini and many more!

The media also created a cloud of cold war between Ajith and his rival Vijay, another popular action-hero of Tamil cinema. But, the actors maintained a cordial off-screen relationship, though their fans could not maintain the same.

Ajith is loved by everyone in the film industry. Even his enemies, if at all existing, would praise his honesty and straight forwardness. He is not only just a gentleman actor he is also a good human being who cares for his fans and silently does lot and lots for the society!

Ajith is blessed with a wonderful wife, yesteryear actress Shalini, and a beautiful daughter, Anoushka!

Ajith’s Biryani is one thing that is highly popular in the industry. The actor used to cook and serve his special Biryani to the unit members of his last two films ‘Mankatha’ and ‘Billa 2′ was highly talked by his co-workers and widely reported in the media.

His upcoming film ‘Billa 2′, the prequel of his 2007 hit ‘Billa’ , is releasing soon.

He is 41 now. And, it is been 20 years in film industry. And for this honest, humble, determined, hardworking and humane actor it is been a long journey that has been full of ups and downs, but the human being in Ajith always remained the same!

    That is ‘Thala’ Ajith!

We wishes this marvelous actor and a wonderful human being a very happy birthday! Let many more successes embrace, and all good health and lots of good things be blessed on him!
