Veteran director and cinematographer Balu Mahendra just could not stop praising Balaji Shakthivel for making a film like Vazhakku Enn 18/9.
While speaking at the discussion on offbeat films held by the Directors’ Union (TANTIS) on 19th May 2012 at the Tamil Isai Kalaignargal Sangam, Balu Mahendra said that he spoke to Balaji Shakthivel soon after seeing the film and told him that he would’ve have fallen on his feet if he had been there in person.
The veteran also added that he has a feeling that he is alive today just because he could get to see the film such as this. Saying that the Tamil cinema is on its way to a very healthy growth with films such as Vazhakku Enn 18/9 being made, Balu Mahendra welcomed the trend.
