Ace Telugu actor Balakrishna was in Chennai for the poster release of his direct Tamil film Varuvan Thalaivan, a bilingual being made in both Tamil and Telugu.
Directed by debutant filmmaker Sekarraja, the movie has Manchu Manoj, Balakrishna in the lead roles. Produced by Lakshmi Manchu, daughter of actor – director Mohan babu, the film is almost complete. Audio would be released in June and the movie in July.
Speaking on the occasion, Balakrishna said, ‘ I was born and brought up in Chennai and I love to do a direct Tamil film now.’
‘Manoj is a bundle of talent and he is sure to go places. Lakshmi Manchu is making her foray in Tamil with a big-budgeted venture and we are happy and elated’.

Telugu star Balakrishna’s fans in Tamil Nadu have a reason to smile, for they will now get to see him in a Tamil flick. Balakrishna is playing the lead in this film..Titled “Varuvaan Thalaivan” in Tamil and “Um Koduthara Uluki Padathara” in Telugu, the big-budget project is expected to hit the screens by June end.
Manchu Manoj plays the second hero in the film..Balakrishna, who was in Chennai recently for the poster launch function of the film, said, “I am open to doing more Tamil films if offers come my way. After all, I was born here.”
