Meena was one of the leading Heroines in Tollywood and Kollywood. She got married with a Bangalore-based Software Engineer called Vidyasagar on 12th July 2009 at Lord Venkateshwara Temple, Tirumala in Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh. This couple was blessed with a daughter named Nainika on 1st January 2011 at 11.30am in Chennai.

Post her Marriage, Meena was acting in few roles in some films in different languages. The 1981 movie ‘Sattam Oru Iruttarai’ featuring Vijayakanth and Poornima is being remade now. This was directed by S.A Chandrashekar.
Now, this remake project is produced by S.A Chandrashekar. Vikram Prabhu is the Hero of this film and Piaa Bajpai and Karthika are his 2 Heroines. Vijay felt that Meena would be best option to be cast as the Sister for Vikram Prabhu.
It seems, Meena would be accepting this invitation from Vijay and act in this film.

Vijay has said more than once in the past that he was a great fan of actress Meena, who has paired up with superstar Rajinikanth in films like Muthu, Veera and Yajamaan. She also danced for an ‘item number’ Sarakku vechirukkaen… with Vijay in the film Shahjahan which took a heavy beating at the box-office many years back. She is now all set to star in a Vijay film again.
Meena would be playing the role of a ‘sister’ not to Vijay but in a film produced by the actor. The actress, who survived as a top heroine for more than fifteen long years in Tamil films, got married in 2009 and is the mother of a child now. She starred in a few films after marriage, notable of them being Naren’s sister’s role she played in the film Thambikkottai.
She also did a Telugu film but refused further offers. After a few months’ gap, Meena has again decided to star in films. She is all set to play the sister’s role (of a cop) to the hero in the remake of the film Sattam Oru Iruttarai (directed by Vijay’s father SAC almost three decades back). It’s notable that superstar Rajinikanth’s debut film in Hindi, Andhaa Kaanoon, was also the remake of the same film in which Hemamalini played his sister.
SAC would again be directing the remake version produced by his son Vijay. It turns out that Vijay recommended strongly to his father to cast Meena in the all-important role of the sister.
