Actress Roja is one of the very few actresses from the present and past generation of actresses to have graced the Tamil film industry to have completed 100 films as a heroine. The actress achieved this feat a few years back, married director-producer and beau Selvamani and settled into matrimonial bliss. Back home in Andhra Pradesh, she joined Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party and lost the Assembly elections.
Roja has starred opposite all the leading heroes like Rajnikanth, Vijaykanth, Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Karthick, Prabhu deva, Prashanth and Vijay in the nineties. For some reasons, though, she wasn’t paired opposite Kamal Hassan in any of his films. She now makes her debut as a television anchor by hosting a reality show for the television channel Zee Tamil.
Titled Luckaa Kickaa, the programme would be very different from the many reality shows on air in various television channels at present. The show consists of four rounds wherein the first round would ask a question to the invited audience. An answer would fetch the audience Rs.5,000 at that very moment. In the second round, those singers who are adept in dancing, are welcome to get up on stage to prove their dancing skills.
Roja would present the participants the amount as stated in a small coupon given to them after ‘careful selection’ by a parrot. The third rould would be the ‘auction’ round with the offer of selecting a doll from a set of 3 dolls and winning cash awards. The show is likely to be telecast on Mondays and Tuesdays on Zee Tamil television channel.
