Rajnikanth in many cases earlier (read Kuselan), has given the producers & distributors money, when the movie completely bombed at the box office.
Now reports suggest that Rajnikanth comes to the rescue of his daughter and son-in-law’s film 3 too. Yes, Aishwarya Dhanush‘s directorial debut, though had a lot of hype and curiosity surrounding the film with the viral hit song ‘Kolaveri Di’, has now opened with mixed reviews.
Though some critics have appreciated, many felt the movie lacked few essentials that prevented it from becoming a hit. The film was planned for a dubbed Telugu release and was obtained for 4 crore for distribution in Andhra Pradesh, despite knowing the fact that Danush does not have huge fan following in AP, and his market is not more than 10 lakhs.
Now the distributor Natty Kumar had blamed Aishwaray Dhanush for his trouble, when the Telugu version tanked. Natty Kumar informs, “I did so as I had huge faith in the family members of superstar Rajinikanth. I felt Aishwaryaa’s debut directorial venture would do well in Andhra Pradesh.”
Not happy with Natty Kumar‘s comments, Rajini did not take it lightly and he it seems have agreed to pay for his loss.
A source informs “Natty’s comments on Aishwaryaa and Dhanush haven’t gone down too well with Rajini sir. Since he has always taken care of his distributors, Rajnikanth sir and Aishwarya have conveyed to Natty that they would compensate his losses too.”
However Natty is blaming Aishwarya Dhanush and Shruti Hassan for not promoting the film in Hyderabad. He added, “Dhanush and Aishwaryaa didn’t keep their promise to visit Hyderabad for promotions. Besides, they didn’t attend the film’s premiere show, which disappointed me even more. I have incurred huge losses because of the film’s poor showing.”
Certain media reports also suggest that Dhanush did not want Rajnikanth to be dragged in to this issue. In fact Superstar himself had issued a statement stating that he is in no way connected to the film 3. We just hope that the problem is settled soon.
