Amala Paul, the actress from Kerala, has been in demand in Tamil and Telugu films for the past two years. After two forgettable outings in Veerasekaran and Sindhu Samaveli, Amala Paul bounced back into reckoning with the super-duper hit film Mynaa (2010) which was direted by Prabhu Solomon. As a village belle, Amala Paul caught the viewers’ attention through a power-house performance.

The then had successive releases in last year’s Deiva thirumagal and Vettai and followed it up with Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi and Muppozhudum Un Karpanaigal. Though Vettai and Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi were declared as reasonable hits, she failed to hit the bull’s eye with Elred Kumar’s Muppozhudum Un Karpanaigal where she was paired up opposite Atharva.
She has a few more projects in Tamil and Telugu and is now all set to make her debut in her native Malayalam. Her first film in Malayalm pits her opposite veteran Mohanlal. This is the first time that Amala Paul would be starring opposite a senior hero. Amala Paul is only too happy that she is finally able to star in a film made in Malayalam, her mother-tongue.

Director Joshi thought up Amala Paul’s name when he was looking for a suitable heroine Mohanlal in his new film which is as yet untitled. Amala Paul, when whe was approached, signed along the dotted lines without blinking an eyelid. She is also nursing a dream of debuting in Bollywood with the remake in Hindi of the Tamil hit film Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi.
