Following her ‘item song’ for Bollywood hottie Mallika Sherawat in Simbu’s latest film Osthe, veteran playback singer L.R Eswari has crooned another ‘kuthu’ number for a new actress. The actress in question has done a hot ‘item number’ in actor Arun Vijay’s upcoming film titled Thadaiyara Thakka which has Mamta Mohandoss opposite him.
Eswari has rendered many popular devotional songs in praise of Goddess Amman. She has also song many ‘club’ songs and in her heydays; however, it’s ironical that she is preferred only for ‘item numbers’ by today’s composers. Thanks to the popularity garnered by the song in Osthe, LR Eswari is literally flooded with songs of similar genre.
Set to score by Thaman, the song features the stunning-looking Mumbai model Dabi Dutta in the song whose opening lyrics are Poondhamallidhaan Pushpavallidhaan… Dabi Dutta, who looks pretty enough to give jitters to the leading actresses of Kollywood, has also danced in films like Baana Kathadi and Ajith’s Mankatha. Still, her song in Thadaiyara Thakka is said to be the best of the lot.
Arun Vijay has also turned a singer and has sung the song along with LR Eswari. Industry observers say that the song could well turn out to be the USP of the film.
