The film had the distinction of having its audio cassettes and CDs released by a man revered as a ‘real life hero’ by many in and outside the State. Former president A.P.J Abdul Kalam, widely referred to as the father of ‘Agni’ (long-distance ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warhead), surprised many of his admirers by taking part in the audio-launch of Krishnaveni Panjaali and releasing the film’s audio.

As the title amply suggests, the film chronicles the lives of Mill workers of the bygone era. The film has music by Raghunandan, who was the music director of the national-award winning film Tenmerku Paruvakkaatru. Vairamuthu, whose lyrics in Tenmerku…. fetched him the national award for ‘best lyricist’, has penned the songs in the film Krishnaveni Panjaali.

Accolades have already started pouring in about the film’s songs. Music director G.V Prakash Kumar and noted directors Vetrimaran, Vijay and Suseendhiran are among those who have heard the film’s songs and appreciated them. Dhananjeyan, chief of UTV Motion Pictures, got impressed by Krishnaveni Panjaali’s songs so much so that he has even made the Aalaikkari…. song from the film as the caller-tune on his mobile phone.
Commenting on the response to the film’s music, Raghunandan says he was ‘deeply touched’ by the appreciation he has been receiving from many quarters. “I’m thankful to each of those who have congratulated me either in person or through phone and e-mail. I’m sure one or two songs in the film would find place in the ‘Top 10’ songs of the year!” says Nandan, confidence oozing in his voice.
