Actress Samantha, the very Chennai girl, is shifting her base back to Chennai as the young actress is opening his new account in Kollywood with big Tamil flicks in hand for this year.
She started with ‘Baana Kaathadi‘ and ‘Moscowin Kaveri‘ in Tamil but both were not well received. The actress shifted her base to Hyderabad from Chennai after the big result of ‘Ye Maaya Chesave‘, the remake of Tamil hit ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya‘, in Telugu.
She went on to make films in Telugu and delivered hits like ‘Brindavan‘ and ‘Dookudu‘. She was celebrated as a favourite star of heroes, producers and fans alike in Telugu land.
But, the Chennai girl always wanted to go big in Tamil films, which was eluding her for long time. And, it all happened in a sudden, things started to fall in with her trilingual Gautham Menon‘s ‘Neethane En Ponvasantham‘ and director SS Rajamouli‘s bilingual ‘Naan Ee‘ coming her way. And, the plum offer was Mani Ratnam‘s ‘Kadal‘ that she is to start with the ace director soon.
With films happening in Tamil, the actress has now decided to reduce her Telugu projects and concentrate in Tamil and for that the actress is shifting her base to Chennai to get more offers in Kollywood.
Looks like the actress has proved what she always wanted to.
Samantha was born and brought up in Chennai and all through her life she always remained a Tamil though she was born to Malayali – Telugu parents.
