While there are stars like Ileana who refuse to return the advance amount paid to them, here is our own Kollywood girl Poorna who has set an example for others by giving back the advance paid to her for Karuvaachi.
Apparently, it was for a completely different reason! Poorna, who had taken an advance payment for the film directed by A.R. Shiva, landed at the location in Salem where the entire shooting had been planned.
Even as the director was explaining the story and scenes in detail, she realised the importance of the character that she was to play and took the sudden decision of returning the advance money. She elaborates, “I am fortunate and proud to act in a film like Karuvaachi.
I don’t want any advance or the other schedule payments. I will take my remuneration once the movie is complete.
My concern is that such good movies should be finished on time without any hassles.” Unlike other films in which caste, creed and wealth play spoilsports for the romantic couple, in Karuvaachi lust is the factor that creates a rift between the lovers.
Poorna plays a de-glam role sans make-up and Akhil of Kaloori fame is cast opposite her. Joshua Sridhar composes the tracks.
