Thanks to the huge and unprecedented popularity enjoyed by the Why this Kolaveri di… song, penned and sung by Dhanush, the film 3 which has the song in it has become one of the most expected films in recent times. For the record, the film brings together for the first time on-screen the pair of Dhanush and Shruti Hassan, who debuted in Tamil films as heroine with last year’s 7am Arivu opposite Surya.
3 also marks the debut as director of Aishwarya, wife of actor Dhanush. The Kolaveri song received as many as 1.5 million hits on YouTube by way of listening anddownloading and was given a ‘golden star’ by YouTube last year. The song’s success had even paved way for successive dinner meetings of both Dhanush and Shruti Hassan with none other than the Prime Minister of the country himself in recent times.
The makers of the film are now planning to release film in Hindi in the dubbed version and in foreign countries with English sub-titles. Dhanush has also bagged a Hindi filmoffer to play the lead role in an upcoming Hindi film amid reports that he would also be debuting soon as director in Bollywood.
The film, which was to hit the screens worldwide on 3rd February, would now be releasing either in the last week of March or in the first week of April. The music of the film has been scored by Anirudh, a close relative of actor Dhanush.
