After A.R Rahman, its now the turn of filmmaker Goutham Menon to clear the air on the controversy surrounding the song Hosanna in Ek Dewana Tha, a remake of Tamil hit VTV.
Filmmaker Gautham Menon explained that their intentions were innocent. ‘I is not that we want to hurt anyone’s sentiment. The word Hosanna has been used in the song in a certain context as – when the hero is deep in love, he cries out for Divine help’.
Christian Secular Forum in Mumbai objected to the use of the word Hosanna. They claim that the word is a sacred term used only in hymns by Christians and Jews and the use of it in a film song had hurt their religious sentiments.
