Attakathi Movie Stills Attakathi music review

The music release of ‘Attakathi’ was held in grandeur and its star-spangled scenario drew everyone towards it. But what impressed the celebrities themselves was the visuals and songs made by the new and vibrant team. Produced by C.V Kumar, the film features newcomers Dinesh and Swetha in lead roles. Ranjith, former associate of Venkat Prabhu makes his debut directorial while A.R Rahman’s assistant Santhosh makes his promising debut with this album.

1. Aasi Oru Pulveli

Vocals: Pradeep, Kalyani Nair

A melodious start as the song mesmerizes for its lullaby style. So soothing over its instrumentals and beautiful rendition by Pradeep and Kalyani Nair, the lyrical realms embellishes the song. The rhythmic accomplishment in guitars and placement of flute between the lines is splendid.

2. Aadi Pona Aavani

Vocals: Gaana Bala

Gaana Bala picks up the retro style of Gaana and Santhosh doesn’t too much of percussions that are usually prevalent with this kind of songs. The work on harmonium is good and the song will gain its peak of popularity with the visuals.

3. Adi En Gana Mayil

Vocals: Ainjivaakkam Muthu

It’s an epitome of a festival song and Santhosh has invited an apt singer Ainjivaakkam Muthu to render the song. The beats and style of rendition both are same as what we hear in songs of this genre. It’s a decent work by Muthu.

4. Podi Vechi Pudippan

Vocals: Sathyan, Palakkad Sriram, Brinda

The mixing has been done well and all credit goes to music director Santhosh. What makes the song yet more decorous is the league of singers employed to croon it. Palakkad Sreeram has always been our favorite singer for his collaboration with academy award winning album ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ by A.R Rahman. Sathyan and Brinda add up to the intensity.

5. Band Musical Sequence

Again, it’s a retro style of band music and it’s done in the typical style with a good quality of sound.

6. Nadukadalula Kappala

Voice: Gaana Bala

The lyrics are quite humorous and again it’s done in a Gaana style. It reminiscences of the songs of this genre that took its way to peak during the late 80s. Gaana Bala’s vocalism is more attractive than in his previous song in this album. The simple lyrics compel us to sing along with it and of course, it’s a cherry-pick of this album.

7. Vazhi Parthiruendhen

Voice: Pradeep

Pradeep is sure to become the favorite darling of music lovers for his transfixing voice and his beauteous style of rendition. The lyrics are so captivating and the style of composition that binds vocals and instrumentals together is a brilliant attempt by Santhosh.

On the whole, ‘Attakathi’ has good music by the debutant Santhosh. With the visuals standing out best on its quotient, the songs will surely gain its way of drawing our interests towards it.
