It’s not often that a debutant director takes up a socially relevant issue and seeks to offer/find a solution to it. Debutant directors mostly go for romantic stories and non-controversial subjects so as not to antagonize any sections of the society. Tanveer’s case appears to be very different.

Tanveer debuts as director with the upcoming film Vijayanagaram. The film’s script reportedly deals with the way the private schools fleece the public and the students seeking more and more money and not providing quality education. The blatant manner in which these schools flout the government norms and regulations stipulated in this regard has been shown as it is by the director.
Talking about his film, Tanveer says “Nowadays, instead of educationists becoming patrons and principals of colleges and schools, liquor barons and industrialists become principals. Their main motive is clearly to earn money and not provide quality education to the student fraternity.
“Instead of appointing qualified and requisite professionals and paying their salaries accordingly, they engage untrained and under-qualified teachers so that they may not need to pay a huge sum as salaries to these teachers. They view education as a means of earning money and are not service-oriented. My film would bring up many questions for people like them to answer,” concludes Tanveer.
