Superstar Rajnikanth‘s Kochadaiyan will be directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth Ashwin and assited by KS Ravikumar. EROS International along with Media One will act as the Production house. The film is slated for August 2012 release.
Wiki says, Kochadaiyan Ranadhiran (reigned 710-735) was a Pandyan king. He was the son and successor of Arikesari Maravarman.

Rajnikanth’s next film ‘Kochadaiyan’ – it’s official
After Enthiran: The Robot and before Raana, Superstar Rajnikanth’s next release will be a 3D film titled Kochaidaiyaan.
A press release issued by Rajnikanth’s media managers confirmed this today. “This is the first time that a 3D film with Performance capturing technology is being produced in India,” it said.
KS Ravikumar has written the story, screenplay, dialogue and is doing the direction supervision for Kochadaiyaan. The film is directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth.
The movie is produced by Eros International and Media one Global entertainment Limited. The work is progressing in a fast pace and is scheduled for release in August 2012.

There is a guessing game as to what is the real meaning of ‘Kochadaiyaan’, ever since the title of Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film was officially announced last week. K S Ravikumar, who is scripting the film, has cleared the air now.
“The word Ko means king and Chadaiyaan means a man with long hair. So Kochadaiyaan means an emperor who sports a long hair. The film will be a mix of history and fiction,” says Ravikumar, who is also supervising the film’s direction.
Directed by Soundarya Ashwin Rajinikanth, the younger daughter of the Superstar, ‘Kochadaiyaan’ is expected to have music by A R Rahman. “But an official confirmation is awaited since the Oscar winning composer is busy with his earlier commitments,” sources say.
While some say that Anushka Shetty will be the heroine of this film, which is to be made using motion capture technology on the lines of ‘Avatar’, there are others who say a couple of Bollywood actresses are being considered for the prestigious project.
