Playback singer Srinivas is celebrating his 53rd birthday today. He was born in Ambasamudram, Tamil Nadu in a traditional Iyengar family and moved to Tiruvanandapuram, where he learnt classical music, and later shifted to Chennai seeking opportunities in playback singing.
He was introduced to films by A.R Rahman and went on to sing many hit songs under the compositions of Ilayaraja, Deva, Harris Jayaraj, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Vidyasagar and Bharathwaj. He has sung more than 2000 songs in all the south languages and in Hindi.
