The film starring Imran Khan in lead role was a kind of revolution in Hindi film industry as it had a running length of just 90mins without interval. The film was laced with comedy and action, which the producers of UTV Motion Pictures have felt that it would be apt for the Tamil Nadu audiences as well.

The film, written by Akshat Verma, is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and UTV Motion Pictures. The theatrical trailer of the film premiéred with Aamir Khan’s Dhobi Ghat on 21 January 2011 while the film was released on 1 July 2011. The film was given an ‘A’ certificate for its adult language and content.
