RANA shooting dates in December 2011
Eros International’s Raana shooting dates to be decided in Dec2011.
Eros International Media Ltd (Eros International), India’s largest integrated film studio is producing Rajnikanth’s ‘rana’ with music by A.R Rahman and Directed by K.S Ravikumar. The shooting of this film has been delayed as Rajnikanth became unwell, after the start of the shooting of the film..
Announced earlier this year, Rana is a live action magnum opus with Rajnikanth playing triple role and will be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Along with Rajnikanth, the film stars Deepika Padukone and Sonu Sood.
Speaking on the resumption of the shooting, Director K.S Ravikumar said, “Though Rajinikanth has recovered fully well and is keen to start the shooting, we have delayed the start of the shooting, as we don’t want to rush him to start the film shooting immediately ,as the film has Rajnikanth playing triple role and has some stunning stunt sequences.
Mr. Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd added, “It is a proud project for us and we don’t mind waiting to be a part of this ambitious project with Rajinikant as we want him to rest for some more time. Hence we have decided to take the decision on the shooting dates in December 2011.”
The music for the film is being scored by A R Rehman, director of photography Ratnavelu. The technical director is Soundarya Rajnikanth, of Ocher Visual effects UK, a subsidiary of Ocher Studios Pvt Limited, and Charles Darby of Eyeqube Studios, renowned visual effects luminary and an Emmy award winner, is the creative and special effects director on the film.
Eros International along with NextGen Films, will produce the film through Rana Production Ltd, UK.

Shooting starts on Superstar’s Birthday?
After admitting that there were unexpected and unpleasant hiccups in commencing the shooting of Raana, Eros, the production house said the film will see its lights soon. The company said the shoot will commence in this year end, probably after the superstar’s Birthday (December 12).
This comes as a great relief to the demanding fans as they were more upset with the announcement of withdrawal of Rana. The company said it is indeed the proud project and has no regrets to wait for any longer period. The similar statement came from Deepika Padukone and Sonu Sood who are too willing to adjust their dates for this mega project with superstar.
The director K.S Ravikumar explained the delay in commencement as the gestation for the complete recovery of Rajnikanth’s health. He said since the plot involves three Rajnikanth for whom there would be stunt sequences, the star has been advised full rest. The galaxy of technical team includes A.R Rahman for music, Ratnavelu for photography. The year 2011 would wane with good notes from the crew of Raana.
