It’s been a few months since actor-director Prabhu Deva’s divorce. However, he is reluctant to announce the date of marriage to Nayantara, and this is irking her no end.
The dusky actress is furious because she has thumbed down six to seven film offers, including the offer to do a sequel to the massive Malayalam hit Bodyguard.

Nonetheless, she has given up her happening career, to settle down in marital bliss with Prabhu Deva but the frequent deferring of dates is getting on her nerves.
“She didn’t allow him to step into their flat in Cochin on Onam day, though Prabhu Deva drove all the way to Cochin from Chennai. He was left stranded outside their house for a couple of hours, before he pacified her to let him in. She even thought of doing a photo shoot for a Malayalam magazine to announce her comeback to movies, but he thwarted her plans,” says a source.
Another reason that is driving a wedge between the hotshot jodi is Prabhu Deva’s love for his two kids. It’s said that Prabhu Deva meets them regularly without her knowledge.
He tells Nayantara that he is going out to complete shooting schedules, when he is actually meeting his children in Chennai.
A few weeks ago, Prabhu Deva was caught in a difficult situation, when Nayantara insisted on accompanying him on his overseas location shoot, since her shooting for the Telugu film, Sri Ramarajyam, wound up a few days early.
“He was holidaying with his two kids and asked her to stay back in Mumbai. He hurriedly returned to Chennai and packed off his kids with some friends from the airport and jumped on to the next available flight to Mumbai,” adds our source.
However, Nayantara got to know of his secret meetings with his kids and is very annoyed with his renewed interest for his first family. If the date that is set for marriage is deferred one more time, Nayantara doubts he can keep his ‘commitment’ of marriage to her.

A leading television channel aired that a crack has developed between Prabhudeva and Nayanthara, one of the much talked about pairs of the recent times in Kollywood, following an alleged distance maintained by the actor-choreographer-director.
They broadcasted that Prabhudeva is giving ‘much importance’ to his sons, which has made Nayanthara upset further adding that the director took his sons with him to a foreign country where he was shooting, without Nayan’s knowledge.
However the couple has rubbished it all adding that there is no need for them to clarify baseless reports since they are happy with one another. However they still remain tight-lipped about their marriage date, but it looks like it will be a private affair without much paparazzi.
No question of deserting Prabhu deva at any cost, asserts Nayantara…
In what could be music to the ears of Prabhu deva, actress Nayantara has asserted that there was no question of ‘deserting’ Prabhu deva and has added that their marriage would take place as planned earlier. “It’s not true to say that his children (born out of his first marriage) are an impediment to our marriage; didn’t I know that he had children when I fell in lover with him?” asks Nayantara.
Reports in the press claimed that Nayan wasn’t taking kindly to Prabhu’s frequent visits to Chennai to meet his children and spend time with them. It was also reported in some sections of the press that Nayan had put a pre-condition to her marriage with Prabhu by asking him to assure her that he won’t be meeting or talking to his children after their marriage is over.
Refuting these reports, Nayan says that “There is no misunderstanding of difference of opinion in between us; we are as determined as ever and our relationship is stronger than it was before. We are very much a couple; the fact that Prabhudeva has childre from his first marriage isn’t a new phenomenon to me. I’m already aware of it. Whatever happens in future, I shall never desert him and would be marrying him soon.
“(False) Rumours floating in the industry about us is also something that we have seen many times in the past…In order to put a permanent full-stop to all those rumours, we shall soon be announcing the date of our marriage,” concludes Nayantara. It is, however, significant that calls made to Prabhudeva’s cell phone met with a dead response as the phone had been ‘switched off’.
Wonder what’s brewing!
