In a very shocking press meet, Actress Sona accuses Actor-Producer SPB Charan of attempting to rape and misbehave with her during the Mankatha Success Party. According to the actress, the party was organized by the Mankatha team boys at the Actor Vaibhav’s house and she attended the party, as director Venkat Prabhu & Premji Amaran are her close friends.
As per the actress statement, She was supposed to produce Venkat Prabhu’s next film but the plan was dropped due to financial constraints. SPB Charan, who asked to transfer the director Venkat Prabhu’s dates to him, asked about the rate for the dates as well as for her also in a double entendre manner. He also then tried to grabbed and sexually assault her.
Actor Premgi Amaran pulled him away and saved her from any mischievousness. Actress Sona said, she also lodged a formal complaint against SPB Charan for the attempted rape and offered him a 10 days time deadline to publicly apologize to her.

Kollywood witnessed a bizarre press meet on Thursday when item girl Sona accused S P B Charan, son of veteran playback singer S P Balasubramaniam, of attempting to rape her and treating her derogatorily at the Mankatha success party on Wednesday night. She demanded a public apology from him within 10 days, failing which she would commit suicide and hold him responsible it. Earlier, Sona visited the Pondy Bazaar police station and lodged a formal complaint against Charan for attempted rape.
According to Sona, she attended the Mankatha success party thrown by Vaibhav and team at actor Vaibhav Reddy’s house on Bazullah Road, T Nagar, where Charan grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her under the influence of alcohol. She also mentioned that Venkat Prabhu tried to pull away an inebriated Charan from assaulting her.
Charan had, on an earlier occasion too, misbehaved with her at Devi Sridevi theatre during a special screening of Chennai 600028 and Saroja, she claimed. “The reason I want to bring this to light is so that he does not do it again, not only with me but also with any other woman in future.” Sona said she was yet to approach the South India Artistes’ Association(Nadigar Sangam).
Our further enquiries got different answers from the concerned persons. Charan denied any such incident although he did admit that he had a brief chat with the actress at the party. “Me, Venkat Prabhu and Sona were supposed to meet up over lunch today to finalise the deal regarding Venkat’s next project. I did try reaching her but she never picked my calls,” he said.
Director Venkat Prabhu said no such incident took place. “It was a normal conversation, a close get together with friends. I was upset with Charan yesterday, though for a different reason altogether, and left the bash early. As far as I know, it was a normal conversation.” Curiously, the director denied the party happened at Reddy’s house, claiming it was held at his assistant director’s house.
More curious was Reddy’s take. He said that the bash took place at Sona’s boutique Uniq at Teynampet.

Honestly Speaking, i am surfing all over the net to find any video available of Sona Haiden, and the only reason is i get crezy of her sexy look and body. If i get to know her personally, it could have been already an attempt long back. If some one is close to her and don’t try to sleep with her is not a man at all. After a couple of troubled weeks, finally all the spat between Sona and S P Charan has come to an end.
Sources say that S P Charan has shot a letter regretting his act and a ‘magnanimous’ Sona has apologised him.
Sona had filed a complaint with police a couple of weeks back alleging that Charan had tried to misbehave with him at a party hosted by actor Vaibhav for celebrating the success of Mankatha.
Charan had denied the allegations and Sona had reportedly produced video evidence for it. She even threatened to go on protest if Charan did not regret for his act.
Finally with Charan sending a written apology, the issue came to end on Tuesday. It is expected that she would take back the complaint that she had filed with police against Charan.
I never sought an apology – SP Charan
After all issues between him and Sona were sorted out, S P Charan, who maintained silence all through has said that he never apologised to Sona and rather sorted out the differences.
The producer-singer-actor said, ‘ I had troubled times for the past two weeks. Thankfully my whole family was behind me. Thanks to our mutual friend, we met up and sorted the issue through talks’.
Sona, on her part said, ‘I did not know why Venkat Prabhu did not stood by me throughout the issue’.
‘I have great respect for S P B sir. Some vested interests played the issue big. Now all is sorted out’.
It may be recalled that Sona had filed a complaint with police alleging that Charan had tried to outrage her modesty recently at a party hosted by actor Vaibhav to celebrate the success of Mankatha.
While warning Sona that she cannot stage a protest without proper permission, the police have given word that they would summon SPB Charan and other actors who were at the party hosted by actor Vaibhav for investigation.
After police adviced Sona and the women’s group that was acting in support of her decided they put off the agitation. It is expected that SPB Charan and the actors may make it to the police station soon. SPB Charan had earlier obtained an anticipatory bail in the sexual assault case filed by Sona.
Sona spills the beans!!
Sona, who reached an amicable settlement with S P charan after verbal volleys, says, ‘it was reported that I chose to come to a compromise with Charan without getting an apology. But it’s untrue. I fought for 15 days with the help of the press and public and finally got a written apology issued by him, in which it’s clearly stated and signed by him that he feels sorry for the incident and that we have come to a compromise without any financial transactions’.
‘I don’t think it’s necessary to show the letter to the press, but if people blame me saying I took money to withdraw the case, I will definitely publish the letter.’
‘Charan and I could have sorted out the issue had we discussed it. But, there were misunderstandings and miscommunication. We were not in the right frame of mind. I’ve learnt my lesson now. It’s not wise to have friends in the industry,’ she says.
Sona leaves India!
Sona has withdrawn the police complaint she filed against SPB Charan alleging that she was sexually assaulted during a party. Soon after withdrawing the case, the actress left the city to a foreign country, say sources close to her.
Sona wants to get away from all the hullabaloo that surrounded her ever since she filed the case against SPB Charan and felt that leaving the country would be the right thing to do.
