While there are a lot of instances where the Bollywood movie industry has looked southwards to for new movie ideas , the Bollywood – Tollywood connection is now growing even more stronger with Tollywood getting inspired by many Hindi movies. We can recall that the recent Bollywood releases that got Salman Khan back into super-stardom including Wanted, Ready and Bodyguard are all remakes of South Indian movies. Here is a look at the upcoming Tamil films that are going to remake the successful Hindi flicks.
The super hit Aamir Khan movie is all set to be remade into a Tamil version. The movie will be renamed to ‘Nanban’ in its bilingual remake.
The movie will be directed by the Shankar, who worked for the blockbuster Tamil Rajnikanth movie “Endhrian”. With the movie receiving such a grand success down south and all over the country, this new assignment taken up by Shankar is creating quite an excitement among the movie goers. If rumors are to be believed, the cast of the movie has been finalized with South Indian actor Vijay replacing Aamir Khan’s role for the movie. Since Madhavan is a familiar face in the Tamil cinema also, he was considered to replay the role for the movie in its remake, but the actor is reported to be not interested for repeating the role. Sharman Joshi will be replaced by Simbu while Southern beauty Ileana will get into Kareena Kapoor’s shoes for the remake.

The Tamil remake for the recent hit Bollywood movie “Delhi Belly” is being pondered upon by a Mumbai based corporate. Aamir Khan has reportedly agreed on selling the remake rights of the movie and has said that the remade movie will not feature the swear words used in the original version. Tamil actor Simbu has reportedly shown his willingness to work for the movie.
The epic multi-starer hindi movie Rajneeti is all set to be catered in Tamil flavor , the initiative has been taken by the entertainment giant UTV.
Though the idea of the remake has been there for some time finding a good director for the same hasn’t been easy.
A source has confirmed “There are doubts about Shankar signing on the project as he is currently doing a remake with ‘Nanban‘ and might not be keen on doing another remake immediately,”
The latest news is Lingusami has agreed to direct the Tamil remake of the Bollywood blockbuster.

“Aamir Khan shares a special bond with A.R Murugadoss, ever since the two came together for Ghajini. So he made it a point to watch the maiden production venture of the ace director,” say sources.
“Following this, a special screening of Engaeyum Eppothum was held for Aamir Khan. The film impressed him a lot. He congratulated A.R Murugadoss for backing such a meaningful and quality venture,” add sources.
