The name Venky is quite popular in small screen as he’s the brain behind many successful reality shows on air on television. The multi-faceted Venky has also directed many short-films and documentaries which have won him various awards. Venky is now making his directorial debut in Kollywood with a film titled ever-so-differently as ‘Konjam Coffee Konjam Kadhal’ (KCKK).

Venky reveals that the film, a romantic comedy, would approach the concept of love and its after-effects in a practical manner. The film has been wrapped up in quick time and the introductory press-meet of the film was organized on the other day in Chennai. As if to match the title of the film, many varieties of coffee including cold coffee, chocolate-mixed coffee and hot coffee, were served.

Actor Nasser was the special invitee at the event. “I have known Venky for the past 25 years now. He has narrated as many as 17 scripts to me as on date but somehow, we couldn’t make a film together. When I heard the script of KCKK, I liked it and felt happy for Venky. The script is a powerful one; it’s similar to a high-quality filter coffee and its success is an assured one,” said Nasser.
In a lighter vein, he added that whoever met him used to ask why he didn’t attempt to make his son a hero in Kollywood. “It appears that it’s an unwritten rule in Kollywood thatall the stars should bring their sons into films! What if I couldn’t bring my son into films? Isn’t my ‘grandson’ playing the hero in this film?” asked Nasser.

It left everyone confused as to what actually he was referring to. Nasser himself clearedthe air when he said that Hrudhayaraj, who debuts as hero in KCKK, had played his ‘grandson’ in Mani ratnam’s ‘Bombay’ many years back!
