Superstar Rajnikanth has offered his support to Anna Hazare and the Jan Lokpal bill.
In a statement, he said: “There can be no doubt that corruption is a dreaded disease that needs to be weeded from the Indian Society. I am very happy that we have a very able and dedicated leader in Anna Hazare to lead us in this fight against corruption.
I whole-heartedly support the India Against Corruption Movement in their campaign to get Jan Lokpal bill legislated in parliament.
I congratulate all the Indians who have lent their support to this bloodless revolution. This kind of peaceful movement is possible only in India which is the birthplace of Satyagraha. I am very proud to be an Indian”, Rajnikanth concludes.

Anna Hazare Gets Scanty Attention in Tamil Nadu
While Rajnikanth has issued a statement supporting Anna Hazare for his fast unto death to weed out corruption, the Tamil film industry is slowly beginning to support Anna Hazare. The token fast was held today at the Film Chamber of Commerce.
Some of the leading artists, producers and directors had come to participate in the fast. However, the top rung heroes are not seen in the fast. There still lies some skepticism in Anna’s fasting and some critics of Anna Hazare suspect political motivations behind his fasting.
The fast began today at the Film Chamber at 9 AM in the morning. Suriya was the only famous star who took part in the fast. Besides Suriya, Director and Actor Cheran, Manobala, AR Murugadoss, Chitra Lakshman and Actress Rohini were some of the most prominent faces. Not many actors had taken part in the fast. Meanwhile, in a response to a question posed by reporters, SA Chandrasekar said that he would not participate in the fast because it was not a well organized one and that no prior arrangements were made.
Rajnikanth Officially Voices for Anna Hazare
It was only during this week that the media had spoken enough about Kollywood celebrities not showing any support to Anna Hazare. Some believed that black money was the reason that they did not support Anna Hazare.
Slowly, some of them have come out in support of Anna Hazare. If a leader leads by example, others tend to follow his path. Rajinikanth leads the way from the front by supporting Anna Hazare. Now, the whole industry will chip in with their support for Anna Hazare.
