UTV Movies would be producing a movie in a lavish budget that would bring together Dhanush and director Simbhu Devan.
Dhanush, who is busy shooting for 3, directed by his wife Aishwarya Dhanush, will now join hands with Simbhu Devan. The latter is known for his comedy capers.
Simbhu Devan & Dhanush would join hands for Mareesan. Simbhu Devan – Dhanush – UTV film is supposed to come together.
Kathir will handle the camera while G V Prakash Kumar will score music. Buzz is that the movie would go to floors once Dhanush finish 3 for Aishwarya Dhanush.

Simbudevan & Dhanush come together in ‘Maareesan’
The film which would bring together the talented Simbudevan, protégé of director Shankar, and the national-award winning actor Dhanush has been tentatively titled as ‘Maareesan’. Simbudevan debuted in Kollywood as director with the hilarious satirical film ‘Imsai Arasan 23-m Pulikesi’ which had comedian Vadivelu playing the lead role.
The film is being produced at a whopping budget by UTV Motion Pictures. A rough estimate puts the budget of the film beyond Rs.30 crores. It the film turns out to be as big as it is promised, then this could be the most expensive Dhanush-starrer as on date. The script of the film is based on an incident which occurred in the 12th century B.C. (approximately 3,200 years before).
The budget of the film is on the higher side as it requires its art director to sweat it out to create the society which was in vogue in 12th century B.C. UTV liked it the moment Simbudevan narrated his script and decided to produce the film. The film would be made stylishly on the lines of famous Hollywood films, it is informed.
‘Maareesan’ is likely to go to the floors from the month of December. The film would have music by G.V. Prakashkumar and would have cinematography by Kathir. The preliminary work of penning and fine-tuning the scrip and dialogues have begun in right earnest.
