Actress Poorna wants a permanent place among the stars. The ‘Drohi’ actress, who resembles actress Asin in certain poses, is presently starring in a few movies including ‘Vithagan’. The film marks the return to direction for actor Parthiban, who also plays the lead role of a cop.
Poorna debuted in ‘Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moondramaandu’ a few years back. The film had Bharath in the lead and was directed by Thirumurugan, who directed the famous soap ‘Metti Oli’ on small-screen which ran for several weeks. Poorna then starred in films like ‘Aadupuli’ opposite Aadhi and in ‘Drohi’ opposite Srikanth. Both the films didn’t to exceedingly well to put her among the top actresses in the business.
Besides ‘Vithagan’, for which she has completed her portion of the shooting, she has a couple of projects on hand in ‘Vellore Mavattam’ opposite Nandha and ‘Arjunan Kaadhali’ opposite Jai. She also had her share or rumours when it was strongly rumoured that she was in love with Aadhi during the making of ‘Aadupuli’. It was said that they were ‘serious’ about each other and had started flirting openly for the world to see.
Poorna, however, doesn’t regret all those rumours. She, in fact, enjoys them! In a lighter vein, she says that “Such news keep me in the public memory and help me get some more film offers. I appeal to press persons to continue to write something ‘mischievous’ about me!”
She doesn’t want to court trouble and adds in haste not to write ‘anything unconfirmed about her’. Talking about her marriage, she says that “I’d never marry anyone from the film fraternity. As and when I do get married, it would be someone chosen by my parents,” said Poorna at the recent audio-launch of her ‘Vellore Maavattam’.
She also expressed her desire to make it ‘big’ in Kollywood!
