Karthika debuted successfully as heroine in Tamil films opposite Jeeva in director K.V Anand‘s ‘Ko‘. The film, which released around the summer vacation, is still going strong in many centers and has become one of the most significant hits in actor Jeeva‘s career. Jeeva, who was already a busy actor, has become more busy post the success of ‘Ko‘.
That clearly leaves us with the question of what happened to Karthika, who co-starred him in ‘Ko‘. Daughter of Radha (one of the most successful heroines of yesteryears), Karthika is now said to be yearning to make a mark in Bollywood, the world of Hindi films. It is also said that she might make her debut in the remake of ‘Ko‘ in Hindi in the same role she essayed in Tamil.
Karthika is said to have put on ‘brown-coloured’ contact lens and spruced up her look to a more stylish one before meeting leading Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan and director David Dhawan, who is widely referred to as the ‘king of comedy films’. She is said to have discussed with them the prevailing scenario on Bollywood and about the project(s) she might choose in future.
Karthika, though, has an added advantage compared to Trisha and Asin when it comes to speaking in Hindi. While Trisha had a dubbing artiste ‘speaking’ for her in her only Hindi film, Asin is managing on her own. Karthika, who is born, brought up and educated in Mumbai, is able to speak Hindi fluently which should stand her in good stead in the days to come!
