Actor Vikram is a bundle of energy. Though in the wrong side of the forties, the actor is as fit as a fiddle and is game for any kind of roles, unlike most heroes. The actor is now eagerly awaiting the release of net film ‘Deiva thirumagal’ which stars Anushka and Amala Paul and has been directed by Vijay of ‘Madarasapattinam’ fame.

Not the one to sit idle for long, Vikram has already started work on his next project titled ‘Rajapattai’. The film is directed by Suseendhiran who has had a successful beginning as director with hat-trick of hits in ‘Vennila Kabadikuzhu’, ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ and ‘Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai’. Except for ‘Naan…’ which starred Karthi, Suseendhiran has always relied on his script rather than on the actors/actresses to deliver a hit.
‘Rajapattai’ would also mark the debut of Tollywood’s sexy-looking Deeksha Seth as heroine in Tamil films. Fair-complexioned Deeksha Seth is quite happy to be debuting opposite Vikram. Incidentally, she is also playing Simbu’s heroine in his ‘Vettai Mannan’ and as such would be debuting with either of the two films.
The film is produced by the teenaged duo of Prateesh and Santosh, sons of popular producer Ramesh who had earlier produced the Vijay-starrer ‘Pokkiri’. Ramesh, though, is cooling his heels in Andhra Pradesh police’s custody as he has been arrested in connection with a case of ‘extortion’ and ‘fraud’. The Unit informs that despite Ramesh’s arrest, the shooting of ‘Rajapattai’ is proceeding normally.
The shooting is going on in Chennai in specially erected sets, confirms an Unit source. If everything goes well, the film is likely to be wrapped up by the first week of September so as to be released on the eve of Deepavali!

Deepika to replace Sonakshi in ‘Viswaroopam’?
Sonakshi was the initial choice of Superstar Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Rana’ that will kick start shortly. But then, since Rajinikanth didn’t find it right or ethical to pair opposite his friend (Shatrugan Sinha)’s daughter, the team considered Deepika Padukone, who was roped in immediately.
All that’s past, yes, but looks like something similar is to take place soon.
Media in North is abuzz that Sonakshi Sinha has opted out of Kamal Haasan’s ‘Viswaroopam’ due to her date clashes with prior commitments. Although the actress was thoroughly enthused to play Kamal’s wife in her K’town debut, things took a turn.
‘Viswaroopam’ was initially supposed to be directed by Selvaraghavan who walked out of the project citing time crunch, following which, Kamal Haasan came forward to wield the megaphone. This has led to some further delay on the project which has led to a clash of dates for Sonakshi, who seems to have opted out of the project and wants to stick to her earlier commitment, but wait, the official word is not yet out.
It is also said that Kamal Haasan has already started his hunt for his lady love, and Deepika is the likely choice.
However we’ll have to wait to know of who bags this role opposite Kamal…
Rajapattai on fast track
There were reports in a section of the media that the shooting of Vikram-starrer Raja Pattai was put on hold following the arrest of the film’s producer S Ramesh Babu by the Andhra Pradesh Police Friday last.
However, sources very close to the unit deny this, saying, ‘The producer of Raja Pattai is not Ramesh Babu, but his two sons. Hence there is no trouble in shooting and it is in fact proceeding on a fast track.’
Suseenthiran, who has come out with a stunning script, is shooting day and night for the film, with uncompromised co-operation from Vikram and other members of the unit, they add. Deeksha Seth is playing the heroine in the movie.
Ramesh Babu, who had produced films like Pokkiri, Nam Naadu in Tamil and various films in Telugu, was taken into custody by the Andhra Pradesh police in Chennai on Friday in connection with three fraud and cheating cases, in which he is among the accused.
