Venghai Gets U/A from the Censor Board

Probably, it has to do with the sickle-wielding nature of Hari’s films that got Venghai a U/A certificate. U/A could probably be equated with the Parental Guidance of American Motion Pictures.

Parents must accompany kids when they come to the theaters. Venghai was certified U/A by the Regional Censor Board. With the censor certificate in hand, Sun TV will air promos of the film day in and day out.

When it is criticized to this extent, can they reduce the overkill? We will see when the promos are aired starting from this weekend. Although Sun Pictures is eyeing a July 1, 2011 release, trade pundits say it could be on July 8 or 15.

If there is such a delay, Deiva Thirumagal will also act accordingly to release the film either on July 1, if Venghai releases on July 15, or on July 15, if Venghai releases on July 8.

If Venghai releases on July 1, Deiva Thirumagal will again reconsider their decision to release on July 1. An Interesting game! Isn’t it? Since Venghai is a hero-oriented film, it could suppress the collections of Deiva Thirumagal, say sources.
