Music Review Vengai tamanna Vengai releasing soon

When we probed our sources, they said that a settlement has been reached between Vijaya Productions and Eka Chakra (which opposed the titled Vengai in court) and following this, the film is now ready for release.

The release of Vengai was stayed by the Madras high court last week due to a contesting claim on the title. Justice V Ramasubramanian passed the order on an application in a suit filed by Eka Chakra Media (P) Ltd, the plaintiff.

The company said based on its application, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) had registered the title Vengai in August last year. The registration was valid for one year and a further renewal of six months.

It had also given news about the title and about the commencement of shooting of a film as Vengai. However, Vijaya Productions, director Hari and Sun Pictures, which had purchased the negative rights, had given the title to a film as Vengai, to be released in July, knowing fully well that the title had already been registered by ECML.

Passing orders, Justice V Ramasubramanian said that despite the title having been registered in favour of Kalaiselvam, the very same name had been given to the film made by Vijaya Productions and the latter is slated for release in July, 2011.
