As said always, Vijay was conscious of themes related to his career elevation and one movie which filled the element of suspense and action. This is Pokkiri where Prabhu Deva exploited the fame and means of Vijay at best. With a lot of stardom like Asin and Vadivelu for comedy this film hit the screens with good openings. Songs too from Mani Sharma pleased the audience and the entire film went off non-stop. The story and action sequences impressed the Bollywood to remake it into Hindi. Though Thirupachi too exhibited him as the police official searching the wrong doers to be avenged in proper manner, Pokkiri had a different role for Vijay. His affection towards father (Nazer) and the punch lines spit against the villainous gang led by Prakash Raj contributed much to the wholeness of the movie.
In fact other films like Badri, Tamizhan, Madurey, Sachin, Vettaikaran, Sura, Kavalan are also capable of reaching the mass but failed to impress. So far on his achievement in this industry he has won many awards from all popular forums, his distinctive mark is the best actor from the state of Tamilnadu for Kadhalukku Mariyadhai. He was accorded with Tamilnadu state’s Kalaimamani award in 1998. In addition he has got praises from the superstar Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan and he is the recipient of Honorary doctorate award from Dr.MGR University identifying his contribution to the society. Of course he too faced the ebb and low of his career but he knew the nuance of compensating with right movies at right occasions.
Mr Vijay, we believe in your idealistic approach to your profession. Now a days you seem to be more cheerful than before and this world knows why is it so. You have set a new mark in the Tamil film industry and has won many accolades for your dedication and involvement. The producers are well aware of this horse in the race and a time will definitely come back to get you the delayed fortunes. On this momentous birthday occasion we all wish you pink of health, peace of mind and successful ventures in your career.

The title “super star” is the dream or we can say a “passion” for many actors. Some may hide it, some may express it explicitly.
Some people will say that there is “one and only” Super star and he is “Rajnikanth”… But we have to accept that in Kollywood after MGR came our super star Rajnikanth… And He was the man who occupied the “prestigious” throne SUPERSTAR!!

Ilayathalapathy Vijay:
He is rightly called as “man of masses”, the king of collections and so on. We will discuss what this man is having in his pocket to become a “Super star”. Well, my first my answer is he is having “the same kind of hardcore ardent fans” just like the mighty Rajnikanth. Almost 50000 fans club across Tamil Nadu. His charming screen presence attracts many, but many of us criticize him for his stereotypical story selection. I guess he changed a lot and this man is now at his best in choosing directors. His future projects are with Shankar, A.R. Murugadoss, Gautam Menon and A.L.Vijay!!
If he is careful in story selection, he is going to give a “tough” fight for the rest of the two.
Ultimate star Ajith:
When Vijay is called as King of collections, this man can be rightly called as “King of openings”. He is having equal number of fans and even one can say he has “Loyal” fans just like Rajnikanth. And movies like “Varalaaru”, “Villain”, “Vaali” and now “Mankatha” proves that he has good acting skills and also he is NOT stereotypical like Vijay, but his choice of directors in most of his movies pulled him down a bit.
Now he is choosing his scripts very carefully. If this is going to continue then there will be many “mangaatha daa” in future.
Charming Suriya:
I can boldly say him as “Aamir Khan” of Tamil Nadu. This man Suriya, invests nothing but hard work and some intelligence in choosing scripts which lead him to be the top competitor for Vijay and Ajith who have completed 50 films. But still he is not having the so called “ardent” fans!! So that’s the problem for him to become a superstar otherwise he will end his career “like” Kamal Hasan who has fans from all region but the most important term “ardent” is missing. Everyone likes Kamal but not many of us would say that he is a “Super Star”.
