An entirely new concept from the then popular director Agathiyan, this film depicted the unknown souls longing for love. The lead roles were shared by Ajith and Devayani. Other casts included Thalaivasal Vijay and Karan and the film deserved the National Award for the Best direction and the best hero for Ajith. Agathiyan shared his camera with Ajith in this film after the earlier Vaanmathi . Agathiyan derived the essence of the story for the Hindi version Sirf Tum.
