A die-hard fan of Superstar Rajnikanth attempted suicide in Coimbatore in a bid to donate his kidney to the matinee idol who is undergoing treatment in a Singapore hospital.
On seeing Rajniraja Arokyasami, an ardent fan of Rajnikanth, lying unconscious, relatives and neighbours rushed him to hospital. He informed doctors who treatment that he attempted suicide to donate his kidneys to Rajnikanth.
Meanwhile, the Superstar’s son-in-law Dhanush has requested fans not to believe rumours on the actor’s health. ‘He has not undergone a kidney transplant. Soon there will be a statement from the superstar himself,’ Dhanush said.
Dhanush, who was with the Superstar till recently, was in Chennai on Tuesday due to some professional commitments. ‘I will be back to Singapore in a day or two,’ he said.

Prayers of Rajnikanth fans and well-wishers all over the world have borne fruit, one has to say. For the Superstar is all set to return India after successfully undergoing treatment in Singapore.
Announcing this to reporters in Chennai Tuesday night, the top actor’s son-in-law Dhanush said, “Rajnikanth sir should be back in Chennai in a week or ten days. He is alright.”
The actor added: ‘He is maintaining good health and doctors Mount Elizabeth hospital were ready to discharge him in three to four days. But we family members have asked him to stay hospital for at least a week.’
Dhanush was speaking to journalists after announcing the nominees for the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards 2010 (south). He said he would take part in the award ceremony to be held in Hyderabad.
