Sandalwood top actress Pooja Gandhi alias Sanjana, who is popular in Tamil with her roles in Karan-starrer Kokki and Arjun starrer Thiruvannamalai, has lodged a police complaint alleging that Dr Kiran, one of her acquaintances, was threatening her.
Following this, Kiran was arrested by the police and produced before the magistrate.
Police said the actress had called on city Police Commissioner Jyothiprakash Mirji at his office and handed over a complaint. The commissioner directed Joint Commissioner of Police (crime) Alok Kumar to look into the issue.
‘She stated in the complaint that the distributor had been sending threatening messages on her mobile phone. We asked Kiran to appear before the CCB police at 11 am. He didn’t turn up, but instead was seen around the commissioner’s office. At this point, we decided to take up an FIR and investigate. The FIR has been registered at CK Acchukattu police station’, Alok Kumar said.
The police, however, said Kiran had made allegations against Gandhi in a social networking website. Kiran reportedly posted on the website that Gandhi acted in Nee Illade, the movie in which he shared the title. They had a dispute over money and Gandhi took away his car and mobile phone.
