Superstar Rajnikanth’s science fiction tale Endhiran won a number of trophies at the IIFA awards on Sunday that included Best Make-up (Banu), Best Art Direction (Sabu Cyril) and Best Special Effects (Indian Artists).

The 12th International Indian Film Academy Awards 2011 in Toronto on Sunday opened with a big Dabangg with Salman Khan‘s tough cop romp scooping most of the awards, including best film and female debut for actor Sonakshi Sinha.
Endhiran was honoured with three coveted awards, for make-up, art direction and special effects departments. The film which has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in female lead was directed by Shankar and produced by Sun Pictures.
Best Direction went to director Karan Johar for My Name is Khan, a melodrama starring Shahrukh Khan about Muslims facing backlash after the September 11, 2001 attacks. Shahrukh Khan also won Best Performance in a Leading Role (Male) for playing a man suffering from Asperger’s Syndrome in My Name is Khan.
























IIFA recognizes Enthiran’s effort
The recent International Indian Film Academy Awards held in Toronto saw the spirited performance of Shankar directed Superstar cast Endhiran. The film got recognition by way three awards at this 12 IIFA event.
Produced by Sun Pictures, the movie fetched awards for three categories – special effects done by Indian Artists, art direction manned by Sabu Cyril and make up designing carried out by Banu.
This is the sequel for Sabu who won the similar recognition in the IIFA 2010. This recognition comes amidst a pool of awards lifted by Dabanng. India is India that’s what India should know.
