Director Ameer also attracts his fare share of controversies and rumors. He was arrested for his Tamil activism in 2008 when he supported the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and soon went quiet after learning that the then Opposition was involved in the protests.
The protest by the Directors’ Association was staged. The directors did not talk about the issue but highlighted the absence of actors in the protest. Each one talked about his personal motivations. Ameer cleverly backed out from this string of politics surrounding millions of lives in Tamil Eelam.
Now, Director Ameer has almost affirmed his relationship with Neetu Chandra – the sizzling actress who attracted controversies over her no pants during an event act. Ameer met Neetu Chandra when he danced for an item number in Mysskin’s “Yuddham Sei”.
He later cast her in his directorial venture with Jayam Ravi in Aadhi Bhagwan. Ameer has almost affirmed and nodded about their relationship. He said that both Neetu and him like each other’s company and so they go together whenever they can. It seems like Tamil cinema has found another Prabhu Deva in Ameer.
