A complaint has been filed in the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Egmore to punish her under Section 500 of the IPC for issuing a statement, which was allegedly defamatory.

Va Pugazhendi, the Karnataka State secretary of the AIADMK has submitted the complaint, stating that his party won the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections with a thumping majority. He had worked for the AIADMK’s victory.
He contended that Kushboo who could not digest the massive mandate of the people and the landslide victory of the AIADMK, had nurtured an ill will and with an ulterior motive, issued a statement on May 14 last.
Her statement that “the loss is not for DMK but for the people of Tamil Nadu alone,” had affected his reputation among people of other States.
Pugazhendi contended that the statement was an “act of irresponsibility and against larger public mandate and truthful assertion and was per se defamatory, made with an intention to defame” him and AIADMK cadres and also people of Tamil Nadu.
