In yet another example of how unstable an artiste’s life in the film industry can be, the pretty and picture-perfect Tamanna finds herself out-of-work in Tamil. Unbelievable but true, the girl with an unmatched complexion and an hour-glass figure that would make any woman go red with envy, has just a solitary film in Tamil in ‘Venghai’ opposite Dhanush. The film is in its final stages of shooting, one learns.

Tamanna has been the leading Tamil actress for the past 2-3 years and had a whopping release of 5 films in 2009, followed by a more formidable 2010 in which she had as many as 9 of her films releasing in Tamil and Telugu. This spell saw her starring opposite some leading actors in Surya, Dhanush, Vijay, ‘Jeyam’ Ravi and Karthi. In fact, she had back-to-back hits in ‘Paiyaah’ and ‘Siruthai’ opposite Karthi.

‘Siruthai’, her only release this year, has been declared a hit and she has only ‘Venghai’ (opposite Dhanush and directed by Hari) to look forward to. Her Telugu market, though, looks bright with her ‘100 percent love’ releasing today to be followed by another release in ‘Badrinath’ in about a fortnight’s time from now.
Trade circles have predicted that Tamanna has been hard-hit by the entry into Kollywood by the likes of Amala Paul, Tapasee and Hansika Motwani. Another reason which is cited is that Tammu (as she is fondly referred to by her fans), who was ‘in love’ with a leading Tamil hero, has become heart-broken at the ‘breaking’ of her love affair and is seeking solace in Tollywood!
Tamanna becomes No. 1
Tamanna might have had her dreams of making it bigger in Bollywood and Tamil film industry. But she had lady luck taking leading her to fortune land of Tollywood. While her career wasn’t really doing good, Shekar Kammula’s ‘Happy Days’ become her revival. There was no turning back for the actress as she continued to streak with success in both Telugu and Tamil film industry.

In her recent interview, Tamanna mentioned that though Telugu films are more off commercial genres, they have good and substantial roles for her. She starred opposite Naga Chaitanya in ‘100% Love’, which happens to be a family entertainer. Her virtuoso performance and glossy-sensuous looks have enthralled the audiences.

In fact, she has fetched more praises than Naga Chaitanya himself, which is usually rare in Telugu film industry. The actress is curiously looking out for the release of her next film ‘Badrinath’ in which she plays female lead role opposite Allu Arjun.

Tamanna love for south films!!!
Its quite a long time since we got to see Tamanna in any of the Tamil films. Currently she is busy with Himmatwala and couple of other language projects. When questioned is she has plans to settle in Mumbai the cute lady confirms that she has learnt the language and is gearing to dub herself.
Further she affirms that what ever she is today is because of the support and encouragement of South Indian films. Even now she is listening to scripts and waiting for a wonderful script in Tamil which would give her ample scope to perform.
