Superstar Rajnikanth’s health is much better know, say sources in the know. The actor has been performing yoga and minor physical exercises at the hospital, they inform.
On Friday, South Indian Film Artistes Association president and All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi supremo Sarath Kumar called on Rajini at the hospital and wished speedy recovery. DMDK chief Vijayakanth called on the Superstar on Thursday.
It may be recalled that the actor was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at SRMC on 18 May for improving his breathing pattern. Hospital sources had said he was getting appropriate treatment and his condition was stable.
Also, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalitha on Friday spoke to Superstar Rajnikanth’s wife Latha and enquired about the health condition of the actor, who was being treated at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre at Porur.
According to an official press release, Jayalalithaa spoke to Latha over phone and enquired about the actor’s health condition. Latha Rajnikanth explained to the Chief Minister in detail, the nature of treatment being given to him.
Lawrence prays, SRK tweets
Superstar Rajnikanth’s health has been everyone’s concern. Even as fans conducting mass prayers, celebrities too have been joining them, praying the Almighty for the speedy recovery of the top actor.
Lawrence Raghavendra will be conducting mass prayer and a special milk abhishekam at Raghavendra Swamy Temple that he has constructed at Thirumullavoyal in Chennai to pray for Rajini’s speedy recovery. This will take place on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, calling him a ‘superhero’, Bollywood big gun Shah Rukh Khan has prayed for the speedy recovery of Rajnikanth.
‘Suddenly felt awful yesterday while driving back from the match to know Rajni sir is unwell. He is our superhero… insha allah he will be well soon,’ Shah Rukh wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
‘I was worried after hearing that Rajnikanthji is not well. So I called up her daughter and she says he is fine now. I wish speedy recovery for him,’ singer Lata Mangeshkar tweeted.

For the eighth consecutive day on Sunday, fans of Superstar Rajinikanth conducted special prayers at temples all over Tamilnadu for the speedy recovery of the matinee idol, which apparently resulted in the moving of Rajini from the ICU to an ordinary ward.
Not just fans, but celebrites too prayed for Rajini, who is the numero uno personality of Tamil cinema. Lawrence Raghavendra conducted a special prayer and annadhanam at Sri Raghavendra Temple conducted by him in Thirumullaivoyal.

Bobby Deol said, ‘I hope he gets well soon. We all love him. Not just an actor, he is a great human being. That’s why everyone loves him and everyone is praying for his quick recovery. I am very sure he will get well soon.’

Rajnikanth shifted from ICU:
Prayer moves mountains, they say. Even as fans and celebrities prayed non-stop for the speedy recovery of Rajinikanth, the Superstar was out of the intensive care unit on Sunday and has been shifted to a private ward.
A press release issued by Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre on Sunday night said, “He is cheerful and is spending time with all the family members and is watching cricket match on television keenly. His vital parameters are stable.”
Visitors are strictly not allowed as per the advice of doctors, the release however said. “We moved him to the ward only after making sure he was completely fit. Hope we can discharge him soon,” said a senior doctor.
On May 21, a picture of Rajnikanth, dressed in blue attire with his elder daughter Aishwarya in the hospital, was released on a microblogging websited by son-in-law Dhanush, who kept fans updated on Rajini’s health condition. ‘Rajini sir is rocking,’ he says.
‘Raana’ not shelved: to be released in 2012
Noted Tamil film Director K.S Ravikumar today asserted that the latest starrer of Superstar Rajnikanth, ‘Raana’, has not been shelved and the film is likely to be released in 2012.
In a statement here Mr Ravikumar said ”Rana is the superstar’s dream project and his brainchild. Hence, he is very much keen on undertaking it and completing it successfully” Referring to reports that the film had been cancelled in view of the indifferent health of Rajnikanth who is currently undergoing treatment at the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre in Chennai, he said ”we would like to asssert that it is a totally false newscast”.
KS Ravikumar said ”it is natural for people to fall ill and as our leading star is now not so well, we feel unpleasant about these rumours about the film being dropped”. He said Rajnikanth’s ill- health might have caused a minor glitch initially in the shooting plans, ”but Rajini sir is all positive about recovering and getting back into action”.
He said leading lady Deepika Padukone’s dates for the film were only after July. ”The shoot is just postponed temporarily, awaiting his complete and total recovery. Subsequently, he is now on his way to speedy recovery and we are now hopeful of releasing ‘Rana’ the following year (2012)” he added.
