Finally an end has been put to all rumours on the health condition of Superstar Rajnikanth. The top actor’s wife Latha and son-in-law Dhanush, along with a top doctor of Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, met the media Thursday afternoon and clarified about Rajnikanth‘s health.
‘He is doing well now. It was an infection that created an imbalance, starting with the stomach. There is also a respiratory infection,’ said Latha Rajnikanth. ‘Rajnikanth was moved to the ICU because it is a sterile place. He is getting complete medical attention there,’ she added.
Dr S Thanikachalam, Director, Cardiac Care Centre, SRMC, said, ‘He is cheerful He ate idli and vada and was in good spirits, cracking jokes in the ICU. We will be moving him to the ward as soon as he recovers.’
He was put on dialysis after he developed kidney problems. Doctors say he maybe moved out of the ICU on Friday. Meanwhile, the superstar’s fans have been praying for him all over Tamilnadu.

Lawrence to organize joint prayer for superstar
Raghava Lawrence has issued a statement appealing to superstar Rajini’s fans, well-wishers and members of the public to join him in a ‘common prayer’ for the welfare and speedy recovery of Rajinikanth.
In a statement released to the press, Lawrence has said that “I am one of the millions of fans who love, adore and have lots of respect for superstar Rajinikanth. In order to pray to the Almighty to speed up the recovery of our beloved ‘Thalaivar’, I have arranged for a mass joint prayer meeting.”
“The very fact that Rajini Sir is at the hospital for the past several days is in itself a disturbing news to me and many of the star’s ardent fans. It was Rajini Sir who brought me to the world of films. Like him, I have also become a devotee of Sri Raghavedra Swamy and wanted to build a temple for Sri Raghavendra. When I told Rajini Sir about my wish, he gave me a photograph and asked me to ensure that the sculpture of the Swamy should be like the one in the photograph.
“At this venue, we are planning to offer 108 pots of milk to the deity at 06:30 a.m. on Sunday, the 22nd May and would be holding a joint prayer meeting seeking from the Lord the early recovery from illness of superstar Rajinikanth.
“I appeal to all the fans and well-wishers of the superstar to join us in this prayer to make it a grand success. I’m sure our prayers would be answered by the Lord,” Lawrence’s statement said.
