‘I was really surprised to see my film ‘Aadukalam’ sweeping out so many awards on the row. A lot of scrutinizing efforts had to be pulled down for the sake of making this film. I had to sacrifice whole lot of things and didn’t have a chance to meet my newborn child. But now it gives an immense elatedness over winning the honors.
Winning National award has been my mother’s long run dream and finally I have fulfilled it’ exclaims Vetrimaran, who has fetched National awards for the Best Direction and Best Screenplay. The filmmaker has thanked Sun Pictures have banking their hopes on this project, which isn’t a commercial entertainer. But they took special efforts over taking the film to the center of masses.
Set in backdrops of Madurai, ‘Aadukalam’ revolved around the clashes between the communities with ‘betrayal’ turning to be the order of the day.
Vetrimaran’s Contradictory Statement
Calling upon the special occasion of winning the honors of National awards for couple of categories, Vetrimaaran addressed the media channels. But his statement was quite irrelevant with the previous one we heard from his closer sources.
The filmmaker has mentioned that according to him, the success goes with accordance of the film’s success in box office and not winning awards. ‘I am happy about the awards, but it’s not the ultimate success and I want my producers, financiers, distributors and theatre owners to be happy’ totted up Vetrimaran.
He didn’t miss to call upon the team of script writers who played a significant role in writing an engrossing screenplay for the film.
