Directors Ameer, Vasanthabalan and Cheran would soon be making their presence felt in Paris. Ameer’s ‘Raam’, Vasanthabalan’s ‘Veyil’ and Cheran’s ‘Pokkisham’ have all been lined up to be screened at the film festival for Tamil films to be organized in Paris and three other cities in France.

This would be the first-ever film festival exclusively for Tami films. ‘Raam’, directed by Ameer and which released in 2005, won accolades from critics and movie-goers for its sheer presentation and some amazing performances by Jiiva, Gajala, Saranya Ponvannan and others.
‘Raam’ has won many awards at international film festivals including the Cyprus Film Festival in 2006 and the Film Festival held in Goa early this year. The festival is a six-day affair from 1-6 April. The screening of each of these films would be followed by extensive discussions by an elite panel on the making of the film.
Cheran’s ‘Pokkisham’ would be shown at the festival to be held in September while Vasanthabalan’s ‘Veyil’ is likely to be screened in December. All these films would obviously be screened with French sub-titles.
