The stunning teasers, chartbusters from Harris Jayaraj and the grand success of ‘Ayan’ have marked ‘KO’ as the most anticipated flick of this year. Cinematographer-turned-filmmaker K.V Anand has always picked some unusual concepts giving a right blend of commercial ingredients. More illustrious with his movies – ‘Kana Kanden’ and ‘Ayan’ that reached him to A-league of filmmakers herein Kollywood.

‘KO’, the term usually ennobled for the Emperors has been picked for the film’s title and so different would be the movie as well. Perhaps, even the big tickets didn’t call for such assumptions on the film’s story, but ‘KO’ has already become a sort of discussion amongst the film buffs.
Some of the sources mentioned that the film is based on Hollywood movie ‘State of play’ that involves a journalist trying to save his friend politician from a murder case unaware of his true colors later followed by another movie ‘Shattered Glass’, a film that is based on the real life story of a journalist who cooked up own imaginary stories to gain popularity. The recent buzzes are that the film is based on a Japanese movie that involves around a journalist striving to unravel bank heist mystery, but later it’s revealed that he himself is involved in it.

Simbu was first considered to play the lead role, but walked out of the project due to some creative difference of opinions with K.V Anand. On the spur of moment, Jeeva was confirmed and the entire crew was into the fast-motion process of shooting it.
Having invited Narain and Prasanna to play the other lead role, finally Ajmal picked up the offer. It’s worth mentioning that K.V Anand always looks up for bigger brand of actors to play negative role in his movies.
Yesteryear actress Radha’s daughter Karthika and Pia Bajpayee are playing female lead characters. Since, it’s touted to be a political thriller, there were reports that the film will have little portion of romance, which has been denied by Karthika as she says, “The film is a wonderful romance and it will be a feast of love indeed.”
Harris Jayaraj has done a remarkable job with his musical part as almost all the songs have become chartbusters. Especially the numbers ‘Yennamo Yedho’ and ‘Netri Pottil’ have turned to be the anthem of youngsters.

Cinematography by Richard M Nathan has been very well appreciated by the audience right over a glimpse upon teasers while Peter Hein won a precious gift from producers for his mind-boggling action choreography for this flick.
The film is scheduled to hit screens either by second or third week of April.
