Ace director Bala always addresses is mentor and cinematographer-diretor Balumahendraa as ‘Appa’ (meaning ‘Father’ in Tamil). He also addresses Akila, wife of Balumahendraa, as ‘Amma’. Bala is very affectionate to the couple and loves them as much as he loves his own parents.
In order to show his love for the couple, Bala has reportedly named his daughter as Akila but calls her as ‘Baby’ instead of Akila as uttering the name would be like insulting the ‘Maadam’. Bala, who has films like ‘Sethu’, ‘Nandha’, ‘Pithamagan’ and ‘Naan Kadavul’, is ready with his next film ‘Avan Ivan’ which has top heroes Aarya and Vishal in never-before seen roles in their respective careers.
As he always does prior to the release of his films, Bala invited Balumahendraa and Akila to show the ‘first copy’ of Avan Ivan to them. Balumahendraa, however, told Bala that he would prefer watching the film in the theatres by sitting amid the audience and asked him to take Akila to watch the preview show of the film.
Akila is said to have loved the film a lot and couldn’t control her emotions in the last 10-15 minutes and cried out loud. Bala now firmly believes that Akila’s reaction is nothing but the sample of the way audience would react afte watching the film in theatres!
