Actress Divya Spandana, who recently announced that she was quitting Kannada films for good, has now gone for a change of heart. The actress had been in the middle of a running battle with Kannada producer Ganesh, who incidentally produced her latest film ‘Dandam Dashagunam’.
Trouble started when Divya skipped the audio launch of ‘DD’ and was reprimanded for the same and consequently ‘banned’ by the Karnataka State Film Chamber of Commerce. This made Divya fume and cry foul. She said that Ganesh owed her some amount which he hadn’t returned within the stipulated time.
“Instead of helping me recover the money from the producer, KFCC had erred in banning me. I’m quitting Kannada films for good,” Divya had said a few days back. In a social networking site, the actress has recorded yesterday that she was withdrawing her decision to ‘quit’ as she had got her money back and also due to the fact that her fans had urged her in through ‘Twitter’ to continue to act in Kannada films.
She has a couple of her films releasing in a month’s time from now. Divya, grand-daughter of Union Foreign Affairs minister S.M. Krishna, aspires to become a film producer very soon and assures that she would obviously be playing the lead role in the film produced under her home banner.
